Vishay introduces the fifth generation of FRED Pt 600V Hyperfast recovery rectifier

    Vishay Intertechnology, Inc announced the launch of four new FRED Pt 5th generation 600 V Hyperfast recovery rectifiers with TO-220 FullPAK 2L full isolation package - 12 A VS-E5TW1206FP-N3 and VS-E5TX1206FP-N3, and 15 A VS-E5TW1506FP-N3 and VS-E5TX1506FP-N3. The reverse recovery performance of this series of rectifiers has reached the advanced level in the industry, improving the efficiency of intermediate frequency inverter and soft and hard switch or resonant circuit.

     The device reverse recovery charge (Qrr) released by Vishay Semiconductors recently is 60% lower than that of the previous solution, and the recovery loss is reduced by 90%. In addition, compared with the nearest competitor, the reverse recovery energy (Erec) of the rectifier is increased by 10%. Soft recovery helps reduce EMI and operate more stably in the whole operating temperature range, thus improving thermal performance.

    With the latest launch of the 5th generation 600 V FRED Pt series rectifier, Vishay extends the advantages of high-end Si technology to different circuit topologies, including traditional and bridgeless power factor correction (PFC) front-end configurations. The devices can be used as AC/DC and DC/DC power level outputs and PFC rectifiers for industrial applications, and are suitable for air conditioners, off board chargers, lighting, hybrid solar inverters and UPS, to ensure system reliability and stability without affecting performance.

     VS-E5TW1206FP-N3, VS-E5TX1206FP-N3, VS-E5TW1506FP-N3 and VS-E5TX1506FP-N3 have two speed types, namely, X type and new W type. For CCM mode up to 100k Hz and resonant circuit with low di/dt at 350K Hz, W-type rectifier has the advantage of low Qrr, while X-type rectifier has the advantage of low forward voltage. The device complies with RoHS standard, halogen-free, operating temperature up to+175 C, insulation voltage 2500 V.
