NXP Semiconductors has introduced the S32G GoldVIP to help address the real-time and application development challenges of software-defined vehicles using the S32G vehicle network processor. Users can observe its out-of-the-box performance through real-time use cases and resource monitoring. Pre-integration of NXP, open source and third-party software, including secure cloud connectivity and OTA update services, enables developers to focus on creating new connected car services rather than software infrastructure. Combined with the S32G Reference Design board or GoldBox's service-oriented Gateway Reference design, users can more easily deploy rapid product prototypes for desktop, lab, and in-vehicle applications. This groundbreaking vehicle integration platform provides multiple value propositions for S32G processor evaluation, software development, and rapid prototyping efforts.

The vehicle integration platform provides a high degree of flexibility and adaptability based on the Linux ecosystem and supports the deployment of user-space Linux applications. It also provides a Rapid prototyping environment with Java and Python support through local and remote cloud graphical user interfaces and secure cloud connectivity. Its pre-integration provides a platform for abstract hardware, allowing developers to instantly create new vehicle services. GoldVIP integrates the company's S32G standard and reference software with the Xen Project Type 1 hypervisor to provide isolated Linux virtual machines.

Partner software integration includes the Airbiquity OTAmatic client for OTA updates, AWS IoT Greengrass V2 edge runtime for secure cloud services, Elektrobit Tresos AUTOSAR Classic platform, and CAN And Ethernet Argus Network Security Intrusion Detection and Prevention system.

NXP plans to support GoldVIP with AUTOSAR adaptive platform, ML inference with NXP eIQ Auto Deep Learning tool, and container choreography to simplify vehicle service deployment. The platform can also be extended to other partner software integration features in future releases. It can meet the needs of emerging markets by integrating new features and continue to support customers' software-defined vehicle efforts.

Brian Carlson, global Marketing Director, NXP Automotive Control and Network Solutions, said, "The new S32G GoldVIP offers a tremendous level of software integration and insights that can speed up silicon evaluation and software development efforts for our customers and partners. GoldVIP raises the bar for silicon software support to meet the needs of software-defined vehicles and provide an extensible platform for the rapid development of new automotive services."
