Available now from Mouser, the single-chip power system HF500A-30 EMI optimized flyback regulator is a fixed frequency, current mode regulator with built-in slope compensation. Through EMI optimization, the device integrates a 700V MOSFET and a full-featured controller into a single chip for low-power, off-line, flyback switching mode power supplies.

Under light load conditions, the regulator maintains peak current and reduces its switching frequency to 25kHz to provide excellent efficiency. The regulator enters burst mode under light load to achieve low standby power consumption. The voltage regulator operates at a fixed frequency, but frequency jitter occurs at medium and heavy loads. Jitter helps reduce the EMI energy on the switching frequency and its harmonics.

Complete protection features include brown forward and brown back, VCC UVLO, OLP, short circuit protection, VCC OVP, input OVP and OTP. The overload protection point is not affected by the input voltage and provides compensation for the over-power line. It has the PDIP8-7B package.

Typical application areas include power supplies for home appliances, set-top boxes, backup and auxiliary power supplies, and adapters.
