Timestrip has unveiled a new temperature indicator that helps healthcare professionals avoid wasting vaccines. When traveling with vaccine vials, the vaccine freeze monitor vFM-7C is activated only when monitoring is required.

Simply press the button on the back to activate the instructions, which can then be immediately placed in the package with the frozen vaccine vials. Since then, it has been able to accurately track temperatures, giving clear warnings if they rise above -7C.

The built-in window can display the duration of the violation for up to 72 hours, but if the temperature rises above the -7C set point, the window will fill more quickly, reflecting the impact of temperature on precision vaccines.

It can be activated anywhere in the cold chain. Liquid indicators are inert until use and can be stored in a refrigerator, refrigerator or at room temperature. In addition to vaccines, these indicators can also be used to protect other sensitive medicines.

Smart labels provide a booklet explaining their proper use and represent a cost-effective solution for small vials, typically 20-40 per outer package.

"The use of VFM-7C avoids vaccine waste and ensures that vaccine efficacy is not compromised," said Nora Murphy, Commercial Director of Timestrip. "It also encourages robust quality procedures in the storage and transportation of valuable vaccine supplies."

Originally produced as a customised indicator, it is now more widely used to monitor sensitive medicines.
