Advantech has added a number of key features to the BIOS Wizard, a rapidly customized BIOS configuration tool produced specifically for its embedded hardware platform. The latest version of BIOS Wizard 2.0, which now supports Linux and Microsoft Windows, provides additional functionality that gives users more control over the startup behavior of their systems.
These new features include the ability to configure the boot order based on a specific use case, as well as the possibility to customize login messages to easily identify and track customized BIOS versions.
The tool greatly improves parsing compatibility with multiple UEFI based images and supports many additional company products, including older generations.
It can now accelerate time-to-market for projects based on all of the company's hardware platforms, including COMs, SBC, embedded PC, and embedded motherboards. The tool provides a user-friendly tree view that allows users to view all BIOS Settings at a glance, edit the default configuration, and save it to the BIOS image. There are tools to modify or set up custom OEM brand startup screens and ensure that BIOS is easily modified on hardware.
With newer solutions, developers can eliminate turnaround time and engineering overhead when processing custom requests. Users can also take advantage of resources, including online tutorials that demonstrate how to use the tool and its embedded boards and systems. These products are offered in a variety of industry standard and proprietary formats to meet applications such as low-power iot devices and gateways, industrial controls, digital signage, retail technology, edge computing, appliances and medical devices.
