The TLV5623 is an 8-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a flexible 4-wire serial interface. 4-wire serial interface allows glueless interface to TMS320, SPI, QSPI and Microwire serial ports. The TLV5623 is programmed with a 16-bit serial string containing 4 control bits and 8 data bits. The TLV5623 is suitable for a wide range of power supply voltages, operating from 2.7V to 5.5V.

Functional block diagram

The resistance string output voltage is buffered by an x2 gain rail-to-rail output buffer. The buffer has a Class AB output stage to improve stability and reduce settling time. The DAC's setup time is programmable, allowing designers to optimize speed and power consumption. The setting time is selected by the control bits in the 16-bit serial input string. The REFIN terminal incorporates a high impedance buffer to reduce the need for low source impedance drive to the terminal.

The TLV5623 is implemented using a CMOS process and is designed for single-power operation from 2.7V to 5.5V. The device is packaged with an 8-terminal SOIC. The TLV5623C features operating temperatures from 0°C to 70°C. The TLV5623I features operating temperatures of −40°C to 85°C.
