DP83867 is a powerful new low-power full-function physical layer transceiver launched by Texas Instruments. The device integrates the PMD sublayer to support 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T Ethernet protocols. DP83867 is optimized for ESD protection, exceeding 8kV IEC 61000-4-2 (direct contact). At full operating power, the power consumption of the DP83867 is only 565mW. To further save power, an optional 1.8V power supply can reduce the power to 545mW. Wake on LAN can be used to reduce system power consumption. DP83867 is designed to easily implement 10/100/1000 Mb / s Ethernet LAN. It directly interfaces with the twisted pair media through an external transformer. The device directly interfaces with the MAC layer through the IEEE 802.3 standard media independent interface (MII), IEEE 802.3 gigabit media independent interface (GMII) or reduced GMII (RGMII). The DP83867 provides accurate clock synchronization, including synchronous Ethernet clock output. The company said it is deterministic and has low latency.
