Texas Instruments' PGA900 programmable resistive inductive regulator. According to the company, the PGA900 device is the industry's highest resolution resistive inductive signal conditioner that enables fast and accurate 24-bit measurements of parameters such as pressure, strain, flow or level. The TI PGA900 uses two analog front-end channels to amplify and digitize its input signal. Each channel includes a low-noise 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to achieve high-resolution signal acquisition. The device also includes a 14-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to provide a highly linear analog output, as well as various output interfaces-including analog voltage, 4-20 mA current loop, SPI, I2C, UART, and a wired interface (OWI) – Provides designers with options to meet the needs of different applications. The PGA900 signal conditioner provides a programmable ARM Cortex-M0 core, which provides flexible linearization and temperature compensation for many resistive bridge sensing applications. The PGA900 provides integrated power management and can accept external supply voltages from 3.3V to 30V to simplify the design. The low drift reference voltage is 10ppm / C (maximum), which achieves high accuracy over an operating temperature range of -40C to + 150C. Mouser now also stocks the TI PGA900EVM evaluation module, which allows designers to quickly and easily evaluate the capabilities of the PGA900 regulator in voltage or current mode. The PGA900EVM includes an on-board resistance bridge with a potentiometer, allowing designers to adjust the differential input voltage to simulate a pressure sensing element. The PGA900EVM also includes a 7.5V regulator for one-time programmable (OTP) memory.
