Texas Instruments (TI) UCC24630 synchronous rectifier controller is a high-performance controller and driver for N-channel MOSFET power devices for secondary-side synchronous rectification (SR). The combination of controller and MOSFET can simulate a near ideal diode rectifier. This solution directly reduces the power consumption of the rectifier. It also reduces the primary-side losses due to compounding of improved efficiency. UCC24630 adopts volt-second balance control method, which is very suitable for flyback power supply. This is especially true over a wide output voltage range because the device is not directly connected to the drain of the MOSFET. The wide VDD operating range, wide VPC voltage programming range and blanking time allow it to be used in various flyback converter designs.
