TE Connectivity (TE) 's three new series of heavy-duty interconnects, the UIC 552, 568, and 541 series connectors are designed for railway and mass transit applications. UIC 552 series high-power single-pole connector with automatic lid lock function is designed to connect to rolling stock of main lines. The series includes plugs with crimp plugs, power distribution boxes (rear or side cable outlets), junction boxes with safety locks, intermediate derivative boxes and fake sockets with covers. UIC 552 series connectors are rugged and provide more than 500 mating cycles, while providing a nominal current of up to 800A (using a 185mm2 cable) and a nominal voltage of 3000V AC / DC. With IP56 certification, it can withstand high pressure water spray and salt spray resistance for up to 96 hours. The connector can be used in a temperature range of minus 50 ° C to 120 ° C. The durable UIC 568 series connector offers more than 500 mating cycles, is a pull-out circular interconnect, has a painted aluminum socket, an automatic cover, and a composite plug with removable inserts and virtual sockets. This series provides audio coupler connections for railway locomotives and includes a socket housing with a removable insert containing 13 or 18 pressure contact points for UIC 568 or UIC 558 cables. The series has a nominal current of 5A and an operating voltage of 110V. The UIC 568 series is IP67-rated according to EN 60N 529 and has fire resistance according to NF F 16-101 and NF F 16-102. TE's UIC 541 series is suitable for applications that require complete environmental tightness of low-voltage connectors, suitable for test voltages up to 1500V and working voltages of 72V. UIC 541 series meets NF F 16-101 and NF F 16-102 fire resistance standards, salt spray resistance up to 96 hours (can be increased upon request), and provides a service life of more than 500 mating cycles.
