Users of integrated embedded vision system IDS NXT Ocean now have access to a complete set of new features. These include multiple ROIs (" areas of interest ") for AI-based object detection and the opportunity to use different neural networks for different ROIs in a single image through the Vision App.
In addition, there are binning, row scan mode, and performance and configuration improvements. New customers can also choose whether they want to use the IDS NXT Lighthouse training software on AWS (previously provided by IDS) or now also through Microsoft Azure Cloud.
It now supports IDS NXT Lighthouse, another AI training software in addition to AWS, through Microsoft Azure cloud services. The service is aimed at companies that cannot work with AWS due to regulatory requirements. The functions and service scope of the two hosts and the operation of the training software are the same.
Without having to set up their own development environment, users can start training their neural networks directly in the IDS NXT lighthouse -- even without prior knowledge of deep learning or camera programming. This involves three basic steps: upload sample images, tag them, and then start the fully automated training. The resulting network was optimized for IDS NXT industrial cameras.
The company allows all customers to activate a free trial month and extensively test the IDS NXT lighthouse. No sales contact is required to activate a full trial license. All they have to do is register with the IDS user account at the IDS NXT lighthouse and select the appropriate options throughout the process. The license key is provided automatically.
In the future, the company will release new features approximately every three to four months, which will further improve the IDS NXT system and give customers more room to design image processing applications. And the current version of the software heralds a regular cycle of feature updates
