STMicroelectronics (ST) STM32F7 series 32-bit microcontrollers and STM32F746G discovery kit. The company said that with ST's ART Accelerator and L1 cache, the STM32F7 device can provide the maximum theoretical performance of the ARM Cortex M7, regardless of whether the code is executed from embedded flash memory or from external memory. The new discovery kit provides an easy-to-use development platform for the ST STM32F7 family of ultra-high-performance microcontrollers, and comes with STM32Cube software tools and a full demo software library to reduce development effort, time and costs. The STM32F746 series microcontrollers are based on the ARM Cortex M7 core with a floating point unit (FPU) and support all ARM single-precision data processing instructions and data types. They have up to 1MByte of flash memory, 320KB of SRAM (including 64KB of data TCM RAM), three 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and two digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Interface options include USART, I2C, SPI / I2S, USB OTG FS, HS, CAN and SD / MMC. The STM32F746G Discovery Kit includes an on-board LCD-TFT display with a capacitive touch screen and an Arduino Uno Rev3 connector, providing beginners and experienced developers with everything they need to quickly start developing applications for the STM32F7 microcontroller. All hardware features on the board help designers evaluate almost all peripherals of the microcontroller, including MEMS digital microphones, SPDIF RCA inputs, and 4.3-inch color LCD-TFT screens. The board also has two micro-USB jacks, a MicroSD card connector, an RJ45 connector, and 3.5mm audio input and output. The ST-LINK / V2-1 integrated via a mini-USB connector provides an embedded in-circuit debugger and programmer for the STM32F746 microcontroller. The board also supports software development through ARM mbed. The STM32F746G discovery kit makes it ideal for home audio, motor control, security and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
