     SCHURTER's compact high-performance fuse holders enjoy a high reputation in the industry, and its OGN series open fuse holders for 5x20mm fuses are no exception. On the basis of the existing THT and SMT models, this series of products has introduced a model that is compatible with through hole reflow (THR) welding process.

     SMT components are used for PCB assembly. Ideally, these components are compatible with the reflow process, enabling complete automation of assembly. Although THT components provide panel mounting solutions, they generally cannot meet the stringent requirements of reflow soldering processes. In the above cases, a welding step must be added. This additional manual step required for THT assembly is not only time-consuming, but also leads to additional errors.

     Through hole reflow soldering (THR) components provide a solution to the above problems. This product not only has the characteristics of THT installation on PCB, but also can withstand the high thermal stress of reflow soldering furnace. First, the THR component is leaked to the pin through hole, and then it passes through the solder paste. As the solder paste melts in the reflow soldering furnace, the liquid solder shrinks into the through hole under the effect of wetting force and capillary force, thus forming solder joints.

     Like the existing OGN series open fuse holders, OGN THR products are suitable for 5x20mm fuses. According to UL and CSA standards, this series of products can provide models with rated current of 16A at 500VAC/VDC, and models with rated current of 10A and 16A at 500VAC according to VDE standards. This series of products can choose whether to add shield or not. According to the IEC standard, the model without shield has a rated acceptance power of 4W/16A at an ambient temperature of 23 ° C. The accepted power of the model with black shield is 4W/10A, while the power of the model with transparent shield is 2.5W/10A. The allowable range of ambient air temperature is - 40 ° C to 85 ° C. OGN series products can also meet more stringent fire safety requirements, and meet the requirements of IEC60335-1 glow wire test. OGN THR and OGN THT are fully backward compatible.
