In the UK, Variohm EuroSensor is a new variant of Wachendorff Automation's industrial-grade rotary encoder with a freely definable pulse count. The new WDGP series offers any number of output pulses from 1 to 16384 PPR TTL or HTL orthogonal A and B channels and freely configurable zero pulses (N). Using IP67 protection grade stainless steel housing with a choice of 36 mm and 58 mm diameters with industry standard mounting options, these high-precision incremental encoders are based on a patented magnetic sensor technology for durability and extremely high resistance to shock, vibration and poor shaft load.
Due to its freely defined pulse count, the new series of encoders provide users with a convenient alternative to standard output options that may lead to more complex control electronic or software calculations. Input power requirements from 4.75VDC to 32VDC, reverse polarity and short circuit protection also contribute to application flexibility. The HTL version has a maximum pulse frequency of 600 kHz, while the TTL option offers 1 MHz. HTL variants also provide reverse output signals.
The 36mm diameter model offers servo, round and screw flange mounting options -- special servo versions with IP67 and IP69K protection ratings are available for high pressure flush/steam cleaning applications. Versions with radial and axial axial loads increased to 300N are also available. The 58mm diameter models are available with servo flange or clamp flange options. Both sizes offer shaft diameter options; Can provide custom design services for OEM applications.
The new encoder is based on the same rugged mechanical design used in the company's extensive range of rotary encoders. The combination of wide axial and radial axial loads and a wide operating temperature range of -40C to +85C provides durability, high reliability and long life for the most extreme rotary position feedback tasks in heavy engineering, off-road vehicles, agricultural machinery and more.
