The MAX5008 charge pump regulator produces 5V outputs up to 125mA with input voltage ranges from 2.95V to 5.5V. The MAX5008 comes in a space-saving 10-pin µMAX package and is only 1.1mm tall. The device includes resistance programmable overcurrent limits.
When MAX5008 is working properly, the number of external components is minimal. The high 1MHz switching frequency allows the use of small surface mount ceramic capacitors. The fail-safe circuit limits the output current when it exceeds the limit set by the external resistor.
Output current ranges from 1mA to 150mA to suit circuit requirements. FAULT Output Indicates that the device is in the current limit or the output is abnormal. Low power shutdown mode reduces the power supply current to less than 1 μA and puts the output in a high impedance state.
