Skyworks has launched the latest products of its 802.3bt Poe series, si3472 and si3473 PSE controllers. The newly launched si3474 can supply power for four 802.3bt four pairs of Ethernet ports, each port is 90W, and supports thermal efficiency 200mohm current detection - the new device can supply power for four 802.3bt two pairs of Ethernet ports, each port is 45W. The new si3473 provides eight 802.3bt dual pair Ethernet ports, each of which can reach 45W, and is backward compatible with the previous generation of IEEE802 3At and AF standards.
All multi port PSE devices of the company support autonomous or managed operation, automatically detect effective PD, and cut off the port power when the connected PD is removed. In addition, each PSE device provides a fully functional I2C register interface for advanced power management and control.
