Power Integrations introduces new 3300V IGBT module gate drivers

Power Integrations, a leading company in the field of gate driver technology for mid and high voltage inverters, introduces a new single-channel plug and play gate driver for IHM and IHV IGBT modules up to 3300V in sizes up to 190mmx140mm. The 1SP0635V2A0D combines Power Integrations proven and reliable SCALE-2™ switching performance and protection with a configurable isolated serial output interface to enhance driver setup flexibility and provide comprehensive telemeting reporting for accurate lifetime estimates.

              

It integrates multiple detection circuits, including temperature, device and bus status information, to simplify system design and enhance observability, control and reliability. Applications include track traction inverters, power grids and medium voltage converters. Other features include condition monitoring of the fiber optic interface to ensure proper reception of switching instructions. Similarly, gate monitoring ensures that switching instructions have been executed correctly and that the power module is in proper operating condition. Short-circuit monitoring provides precise control and instructs the gate driver to respond appropriately in the event of a short circuit.

Telemetry data provided by the 1SP0635V2A0D gate driver includes accurate temperature measurements, which simplifies temperature rise management and eliminates the need for an external temperature sensor. In addition, the integrated DC bus voltage measurement function can reduce the external circuit, reduce the complexity and cost of the system. Closed-loop gate voltage, gate status, and short-circuit monitoring ensures that modules operate within set limits, improving efficiency and avoiding serious failures.
