The MC100LVEL16 is a differential receiver. The device functions as an EL16 device, operating from a 3.3V power supply. LVEL16 exhibits a wider VIHCMR range than EL16. The LVEL16's output conversion time and propagation delay are comparable to that of the EL16, making it ideal for high frequency source interfaces with 3.3V power supplies. Under open input conditions, Q input will be pulled to VEE and Q input will be biased towards VCC/2.

This situation will force Q output low. The VBB pin, internally generated by the voltage supply, is available for this device. For single-ended input conditions, the unused differential input is connected to the VBB as a switching reference voltage. VBB can also re-bias AC coupled inputs. When in use, the VBB and VCC are decoupled by a 0.01F capacitor and the current source is limited or sunk to 0.5 mA. Keep the VBB open when not in use.
