Codasip, the leader in silicon intellectual property (IP) for customizable RISC-V processors, today announced that its Codasip Studio platform now supports Apple's macOS Monterey, the current major release of macOS. Codasip Studio is a processor design automation platform for customizing Codasip's leading RISC-V processor IP, enabling designers to quickly and easily customize their processor designs to achieve the highest performance for applications in specific domains.
Codasip Studio can also be used to create Codasip's industry-best RISC-V processor cores and help designers evaluate microarchitecture alternatives. Application software can use the precise description of the kernel's instructions for analysis. To address performance bottlenecks, custom directives can be added and profiled. Once the instruction set is stable, firmware and drivers can be developed, greatly reducing time to market.
Codasip's family of RISC-V cores are created in the CodAL hardware description programming language and can therefore be customized by modifying the CodAL source in Codasip Studio. Codasip Studio will automatically generate a complete software tool chain according to the description of CodAL, including compiler, assembler, linker and debugger, etc., as well as RTL and UVM verification environment. Finally, assist verification by automatically generating testbenches, UVM environments, and random assembler tests
