Murata's ZY type Bluetooth Smart module. The ZY type is known as one of the most compact and ultra-low-power modules in its class, complies with the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) v4.1 standard, and includes many types of built-in protocol stacks required for Bluetooth low energy communication. The 2.4GHz module has an integrated system clock, onboard PCB antenna, low-power operation, and iBeacon support.
The ZY type is a complete Bluetooth radio system with a current consumption of only 5mA at 0dBm transmit power. When the output power is 0dBm, the device usually has a range of 98 feet (30 meters). The wireless module stack has a programmable application and configuration file framework, and includes built-in BB, LL, L2CAP, GAP, SMP, ATT, and GATT protocol stacks. The optimized Bluetooth 4.1 BLE Smart module operates in the frequency range of 2402MHz to 2480MHz.
The module has flexible programming and interface options, including UART, SPI, I2C and GPIO. The module has an operating temperature range of -40C to + 85C, fully complies with RoHS requirements, and is certified by FCC / IC, CE and TELEC regulations. The ultra-compact module measures only 7.4mm x 7mm x 1mm and is available in the SMD / SMT installation form in standard reel packaging.
The module can be powered by a small 3.6V button battery and is targeted for Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as healthcare and fitness equipment, medical equipment, smartphone peripherals, remote controls and wireless devices.
