Molex announced the launch of NearStack PCIe connector systems and cable components for next-generation servers. Developed in partnership with members of the Open Source Computing Project (OCP), NearStack PCIe replaces traditional plug-in cable solutions to optimize signal integrity and improve system performance.
A prominent feature of NearStack PCIe is the shielded two-conductor terminals in direct contact, eliminating the need for a plug-in card in the cable assembly. Unlike rival cable jumpers, which are terminated by manually welding cables to PCB pad cards, NearStack uses a fully automated cable terminating process. This high-precision process improves manufacturing efficiency, repeatability, and signal integrity.
"Thanks to its superior architecture, NearStack PCIe is ideal for enabling the development of next-generation PCIe Gen5 and Gen6 systems," said Bill Wilson, Manager, New Product Development, Molex Enterprise Solutions. The product is capable of achieving 32-Gbps NRZ data rates, enabling server OEMs to achieve unprecedented performance."
