Following the recent launch of its Brad M12 power F-coded connector system, Molex LLC has introduced a complete T-coded cable kit and socket that is three times more powerful than a standard M12 connector. The interconnect system can provide up to 12A per pin, meeting the power requirements of the growing DC motors and drives, actuation equipment and 24V DC auxiliary power systems in automation control systems and LED lighting and commercial vehicle applications. As with F-coded products, the T-coded mating interface prevents accidental use with other M12 connectors for input, output, signal or industrial network connections, and provides up to two DC power circuits (2 x V- / 2x V +). The robust blind button design significantly reduces the chance of mismatches, especially in restricted access locations where visibility is limited. To eliminate the possibility of electric shock, the connector pins are recessed into the contact holder. The socket design has been enhanced to more efficiently dissipate the heat generated by the higher current carrying capacity, while maintaining its compact size. The 4-pin M12 T-coded connector can accommodate up to 16 AWG / 1.5mm2 wires and is rated for a working voltage of 63V AC / DC. The Brad M12 Power T coded cable set and socket with IP67 degree of protection are ideal for use in harsh and humid industrial environments. The connector is dust-proof and can be temporarily immersed in up to one meter of water. The company said that the T-code conforms to the IEC standard 61076-2-111, which allows the use of open industrial connector standards, which are widely adopted by many platforms and manufacturers.
