Molex has introduced Brad Micro-Push M12 connectors for factory automation and industrial lighting applications. These connectors have an innovative push-fit interface, which reduces installation time by as much as 80% compared to screw connectors and facilitates simple blind connection in narrow locations. The company said that the solution does not require any metal components and can provide excellent sealing performance to IP65 specifications while reducing material costs. Cutting costs is a comprehensive issue, forcing OEMs and system integrators to find new ways to save money. In some applications, connectors with protection class IP65 can provide adequate protection, but if there is no viable M12 version, many connectors will have to switch to the more costly and more complex IP67 option, "Nathan, Molex Global Product Manager Caughel said. "Brad Micro-Push solves this problem by providing advanced M12 connections without unnecessary features, helping to reduce material costs and simplify the assembly process. "The connectors have an IP65 NEMA protection rating that prevents solids from entering and can withstand low pressure water flow. They also include a threadless connection design that eliminates reverse threads in high-vibration environments, thereby reducing downtime and further saving costs. Vision Alignment with the tactile keyway ensures a complete interface fit to provide excellent vibration resistance, while non-metallic couplers ease the trouble of grounding and electrostatic discharge. Brad-Micro Push also provides backward compatibility with older M12 connectors .
