The TLC5620C and TLC5620I are four-way 8-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters (Dacs) with buffered reference inputs (high impedance). The output voltage produced by the dac ranges between one or two times the reference voltage and GND, and the dac is monotonic. The device is simple to use and runs from a single power source at 5 volts. Power-on reset function to ensure repeatable start conditions.

Functional block diagram

The TLC5620C features operating temperatures from 0°C to 70°C. The TLC5620I features operating temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. They are digitally controlled via a simple three-wire serial bus, which is CMOS compatible and easily connects to all popular microprocessor and microcontroller devices. The 11-bit command word includes 8 bits of data, two dac select bits, and a range bit, which allows the choice between multiplying by 1 or multiplying by 2 the output range.

Equivalent input and output

The DAC register is dual-buffered, allowing a complete set of new values to be written to the device and then all DAC outputs to be updated simultaneously via the LDAC's controls. Digital input function Schmidt trigger high anti-interference. The 14-terminal small profile (D) package allows for digital control of analog functions in space-critical applications.
