Diodes' AP1688 LED step-down controller is a high-performance constant-current step-down controller for general-purpose LED driver applications such as LED tubes, Par38 retrofits, and downlights. AP1688 operates in Boundary Conduction Mode (BCM) to achieve high efficiency, low electromagnetic interference (EMI) and low total harmonic distortion (THD). The AP1688 uses open-loop control to provide excellent line and load regulation. It also features fast startup, low starting current and low operating current. Comprehensive protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP), over-current protection (OCP), over-temperature protection (OTP) and LED short-circuit and open-circuit protection.
