Cypress Semiconductor has introduced a non-volatile data recording solution with ultra-low power consumption. This solution is ideal for the latest generation of portable medical and wearable devices and other IoT applications that require non-volatile memory to continuously record more and more user and sensor data, while requiring as little power as possible. The company's new Excelon LP ferroelectric random access memory (F-RAM) is known as the industry's most energy-efficient non-volatile RAM and provides an instant-write function with almost unlimited endurance, enabling these applications to Meet mission-critical data logging needs while maximizing battery life. This series uses a low pin count and small package, making it ideal for space-constrained portable applications.
"With the rapid popularity of portable medical devices and wearable health monitors, ultra-low-power, fail-safe storage has become a premium," said Sam Geha, executive vice president of Cypress Memory Products. The new Excelon LP F-RAM consumes 200 times less energy than EEPROM and 3,000 times less than NOR flash memory, while providing almost unlimited endurance in a small size, making it ideal for these applications.
