CUI has introduced a new 1100W front-end AC / DC power supply for mission-critical (N + 1) redundant applications. The power density of PSA-1100-12 is 25.34 W / cubic inch, and it adopts a compact ultra-thin wire 1U package (the size is only 40mm x 54.5mm x 321.3mm), and the efficiency reaches 94%. Compared to large solutions on the market, the narrow 54 mm form factor enables designers to minimize application space. The power output is 12VDC, 5VDC or 3.3VDC.
The PSA-1100-12 is hot-swappable, with an IEC320 AC connector on the front, and an industrial standard output connector with integrated DC power and signal pins on the back. This unit is well-suited for telecommunications, server and network rack mount applications where reliability, power density and energy consumption are key considerations.
The function of PSA-1100-12 is to communicate with the system through I2C / PMBus protocol to control and monitor the equipment. The main 12VDC output can provide up to 92A and has a shunt current that can be used in parallel with multiple units; forced shunting is optional. For maximum flexibility, the series is available in front-to-back or back-to-front airflow configurations depending on the cooling requirements of the application. PSA-1100-12 also provides 60950-1 safety certification, carries the CE mark, and meets all applicable EMC requirements for global applications. The company said that overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, and input undervoltage protection are standard.
