CMX7158 from CML Microcircuits is a low-power, full duplex, inverter voice scrambling chip. This type of encryption applies to many personal, enterprise, and business applications to prevent eavesdropping from fellow users or RF scanners.
The device has a flexible analog interface that allows the CMX7158 to plug into an existing voice path. The device is suitable for use in a new design, integrated into an existing design, or as an independent attachment. Full duplex operation makes it suitable for wired audio systems as well as mobile and handheld cellular, Bluetooth, PMR or LMR radio systems.
The CMX7158 has programmable inverter frequency dividing points, and completely independent transmitting and receiving voice channels. Each channel has digital gain control. The three operation modes allowing garbled or clear voice transmission and higher bandwidth bypass mode are also supported.
