BittWare Announces PCIe 5.0/CXL FPGA Accelerators with Intel® Agilex™ M-Series and I-Series, Driving Memory and Interconnection Improvements and Mitigating Risk
• BittWare joins Intel's Agilex M-Series early access program to drive development of FPGA solutions for memory-intensive applications
•BittWare adds two new Intel Agilex I-series SmartNIC accelerators, creating the broadest Intel FPGA-based accelerator portfolio for the enterprise
• Decades of cooperation with Intel, providing customers ready access to mature products in the fields of high performance computing, computing storage, networking and sensor processing
BittWare, a Molex subsidiary and a leading provider of enterprise-class accelerators for edge and cloud computing applications, today introduced new memory card and server-class solutions featuring Intel Agilex FPGAs. The new BittWare IA-860m leverages up to 32GB of HBM2e on-system memory and 16-lane PCIe 5.0 (with CXL upgrade option) to help customers address memory-constrained application workloads.
BittWare also added Intel I-series-class FPGA-based products, introducing the IA-440i and IA-640i accelerators supporting high-performance interfaces, including 400G Ethernet and PCIe 5.0 (CXL option). These latest models complement BittWare's existing Intel Agilex F-Series products, one of the broadest FPGA-based Intel Agilex portfolios on the market. This product announcement further solidifies BittWare's commitment to addressing the growing demands of high-performance computing, storage, networking and sensor processing applications.
"BittWare is excited to apply Intel's advanced technology to solve increasingly difficult application problems in a fast, low-risk manner," said Craig Petrie, vice president of sales and marketing at BittWare. This expertise, combined with Molex’s global supply chain and manufacturing capabilities, has enabled BittWare to reduce development time by 12 to 18 months while ensuring a smooth transition from proof of concept to volume product deployment.”
Drive innovation
BittWare has been selected to participate in the Intel Agilex M-Series Early Access Program (EAP) to accelerate the delivery of FPGA-based solutions that incorporate Intel's latest technology advancements. To this end, BittWare's world-class engineering team will take full advantage of the system's built-in HBM2e (High Bandwidth Memory) DRAM stack, on-chip SRAM, support for external Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) next-generation memory, including DDR5, and more.
Deepali Trehan, Vice President and General Manager, Programmable Solutions, Intel Corporation, said: "We are delighted to partner with BittWare to expand Intel's FPGA-based solutions while powering our new Intel Agilex M-Series FPGAs. Over the years, BittWare has Has been strongly supporting our Intel Agilex flagship product roadmap and leverages Intel's OneAPI development kit to accelerate solution development and delivery, enabling our customers to achieve high levels of performance and energy efficiency in end markets and applications. "
Coping with exponential data growth
BittWare and Intel jointly develop solutions that accelerate the processing of multiple workloads, including machine learning inference, database acceleration and Non-Volatile Memory Standard (NVMe) computational storage, network test and measurement, 5G cellular test and sensor processing. As a result, both companies are well positioned to meet customers' growing demands for high-speed networking, compute and storage acceleration for the most demanding applications and computing workloads.
Availability
Early access devices for the BittWare IA-440i and IA-640i accelerators are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2022, and production equipment is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2023. Early access equipment for the IA-860m accelerator will be available in the second quarter of 2023, with production expected in the second quarter of 2024. All three products will be sold through distribution.
