Littelfuse 494 Series Fast Response SMFs are ultra-small (0603 size) thin film devices for secondary protection of circuits in space-constrained applications, including hand-held portable electronics. This series of products is 100% lead-free and meets the requirements of the RoHS directive.
The device's alloy-based element construction provides superior impact resistance (I2t) over ceramic or glass-based 0603 fuse products. Typical applications for secondary protection of space-constrained applications include cell phones, battery packs, digital cameras, DVD players, and hard drives.
This product is suitable for lead-free solder and high temperature profiles. This high-performance material improves performance in applications with higher ambient temperatures. A code is marked on the upper surface of the unit to allow ampere rating identification without testing. It offers a low profile for highly sensitive applications and has a flat top surface for pick and place operations. The element cover material is resistant to industry standard cleaning operations. Mounting pads and electrical properties are the same as the 431 and 434 series.
